1/ just got off a call with an engineer on OpenAI's applied evals team
two things that stuck with me during our discussion of Opal:
1. applied evals and prompt engineering will be the most important roles in AI going forward. models are insanely capable now. the bottleneck is making sure outputs are reliable in real workflows. that takes domain experts, not just ML engineers
2. AI in gaming is an important next frontier that the industry will be paying serious attention to
