🍊 FinnDuck Community – Donation Video Episode 43 is now live on YouTube In this episode, we traveled to Houma City, Shanxi Province, to visit Xiaozhou, a boy born in 2016. He has severe autism, with limited cognitive and comprehension abilities. He occasionally imitates words but does not yet have spontaneous speech. Xiaozhou has a twin brother who also has an intellectual disability. The brother is currently attending elementary school and has simple language abilities, though his comprehension is limited. Xiaozhou, however, was previously asked to leave school and was mainly cared for by elderly family members. As a result, his education and intervention were neglected for a long time, and only recently did he begin receiving institutional intervention. Xiaozhou’s parents also have intellectual disabilities, so his daily care is primarily provided by his grandparents. The family faces severe financial hardship. His father earns a small income from farming, and the household mainly relies on the grandfather taking temporary jobs to make a living. In this episode, the FinnDuck Community donated 1,000 RMB to Xiaozhou’s family. Based on the child’s and the family’s real circumstances, we also provided practical and actionable guidance on intervention and rehabilitation. Under extremely limited conditions, we hope to offer real, grounded support— both for the child’s development and for the family to continue moving forward.
