Researchers in China have been excluded from the EU's most advanced collaborative technology programmes (namely Horizon Europe). Additionally, researchers from outside China applying in these fields must demonstrate that their partner institutions are not owned or controlled by Chinese organizations. The new rules, issued in December, dedicate five pages specifically to restricting activities related to China.
